This role supports packaging engineering activities across all assigned projects, working closely with the NPD Design Engineer and Project Leader at TTI Zhuhai/Dau Giay, as well as the Project Engineer in the U.S. The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for the execution and verification of packaging design, ensuring alignment with both TTI and OEM brand standards. This includes managing packaging EB/QB processes and validation testing.
To work very closely with the NPD Design Engineer and NPD Project leader at TTI Zhuhai/Dau Giay and Project Engineer in US, for the packaging engineering for all assigned projects. Follow packaging EB/QB/test.
1. Packaging Design & Verification
TTI Brand:
Distribute drawings of approved packaging solutions to initiate sample development.
Review packaging samples and test results; collaborate with the Packaging Supervisor to propose and implement improvements as necessary.
Create and verify tape artwork.
OEM Brand:
Design packaging structures and artwork based on customer specifications.
Update existing packaging designs per customer requirements.
Create and verify tape artwork.
2. FAI and SER Management
Initiate and coordinate FAI (First Article Inspection) testing.
Issue SER (Supplier Engineering Request) for all packaging components.
3. Sourcing Support
Assist the sourcing team in evaluating and qualifying packaging components from alternative suppliers.
4. Value Engineering / Continuous Improvement (VE/CIP)
Support assigned VE/CIP initiatives related to packaging design and cost optimization.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams including TTI Zhuhai/Vietnam PMO, Purchasing, QA, PMC, and Production to:
Develop and validate tape artwork and packaging designs.
Complete packaging verification for all assigned projects.
Bachelor's degree in Printing, Packaging, or Mechanical Engineering.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus.
Hands-on experience in managing product packaging EB/QB processes and resolving on-site packaging issues in the workshop is required.
Familiarity with packaging material finishes, manufacturing processes, and packaging testing standards (ISTA 1A, 2A, 3A) is a strong advantage.
Good command of English, both written and spoken.
