EXPAT TEACHER – KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons to students across the assigned Primary grade levels.
Submit lesson plans and student progress reports to the English Team Leader in a timely manner.
Prepare and administer tests, examinations, and exercises in accordance with the school curriculum.
Assess students’ oral and written work and provide constructive feedback.
Participate in morning activities with Primary students and fellow teachers, including welcoming students and parents, attending school events and parent meetings, and supporting other school activities during working hours.
Organize and actively participate in social and cultural activities, including competitions, school events, field trips, and other extracurricular activities.
Attend and contribute to professional development and training sessions, and conduct training sessions when required.
Undertake administrative and academic support tasks assigned by the English Academic Department, including reviewing translated documents and school news, as well as developing teaching and learning materials such as audio and visual resources.
Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
WORK LOCATION: Pathway Academy | Villa Thu Thiem Primary School: No. 2, 92-TML Street, Cat Lai Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
REQUIREMENTS:
A university degree in Education or English Language Teaching is required. Candidates whose degrees are in other fields must hold a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification to meet the requirements for obtaining a work permit to teach in a school in Vietnam.
At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience; experience in international or bilingual schools is an advantage.
Native level English proficiency or citizenship in the US, UK, or a European country is preferred.
A recognized teaching qualification such as CELTA, TEFL, or TESOL is an advantage.
Meet all legal requirements for obtaining a valid work permit in Vietnam and be able to provide a criminal record certificate and proof of relevant work experience upon request.
Demonstrated creativity in lesson planning, with the ability to design engaging, practical, and student-centered lessons.
Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, PowerPoint presentations, and other necessary teaching resources.
Strong passion for teaching, with the ability to nurture, motivate, and inspire students.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a dynamic school environment.
High level of cultural sensitivity, patience, and professional tolerance.
Be assigned to one fixed campus, with a teaching load of 30–34 periods per week at the Primary level. Each period lasts 35 minutes.
Working hours: Full-time expat teachers are required to work Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an approximately two-hour lunch break. Teachers may also be required to participate in admission-related activities or school events on Saturday mornings, with prior notice and as directed by the English Team Leader. Such participation will not exceed 1–2 Saturday mornings per month.
