[Hai Phong/Freight Forwarding] Senior Operation Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

· Project & Shipment Execution:

o Oversee daily sea, air, and land freight operations, focusing heavily on specialized or project cargo handling.

o Plan, monitor, and manage complex transport schedules from origin booking to final site delivery.

o Coordinate route surveys, special permits, heavy-lift equipment, and customs clearance procedures for high-value or project shipments.

· Team & Resource Management:

o Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of operations, customer service, and documentation teams.

o Allocate manpower, fleet resources, and vendor capabilities to meet tight project deadlines.

· Network & Vendor Management:

o Build and maintain relationships with overseas agents, global carriers, shipping lines, and local subcontractors.

o Negotiate freight rates, service contracts, and spot pricing to optimize profit margins.

· Compliance & Quality Control:

o Ensure strict adherence to international trade regulations, AMS/ISF filings, dangerous goods handling rules, and local customs compliance.

o Handle service escalations, customer complaints, and post-shipment root-cause analyses.

· Financial & P&L Oversight:

o Track project budgets, monitor department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and assist finance with debt collection and invoicing reviews.

o Prepare regular operational and financial reports for top management.

Requirements & Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.

· Experience:

o 6–8+ years of operational and project management experience in freight forwarding or import-export.

o Direct experience handling project cargo, heavy-lift, or cross-trade / multimodal shipments is a strong advantage.

· Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or supply chain certifications are a plus.

· Skills:

o Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and crisis-management abilities.

o Proficiency in freight management software, MS Office, and ERP systems.

o Fluent in English (additional languages like Chinese or regional trading languages are often preferred).
