Role purpose
Guardian of the two numbers Huong Thuy runs on – cost of goods sold and gross profit. You makesure every unit cost in Lac Viet ERP is right, every revenue deduction is justified, and management
sees a true gross margin by brand each month.
1. Costing Operations in Lac Viet ERP
- Run the monthly costing (gia von) process in Lac Viet ERP: confirm that goods receipts, landed cost allocations, stock movements and sales issues are complete and cut off correctly before executing the COGS run; review and release the results.
- Maintain costing master data and rules: valuation method, warehouse/cost mapping, and landed cost allocation keys (freight, insurance, import duty, customs and inland charges).
- Own the costing close calendar and coordinate with Import, Purchasing, Warehouse/Logistics and Sales Admin so that inventory cut-off is respected every period.
2. COGS Verification & Reconciliation
- Imported goods: reconcile COGS to landed cost by shipment and SKU (supplier invoice, freight, insurance, import duties and other import charges per customs declaration).
- Domestic purchases: reconcile COGS to the pre-approved buying price list; flag any receipt priced outside approval and escalate for correction.
- Reconcile the inventory sub-ledger to the general ledger monthly; investigate unit-cost anomalies (negative stock, zero cost, abnormal cost swings, unallocated landed cost) and resolve them before the books close.
3. System Fixes, Improvement & Automation
- Identify the root cause of costing errors in Lac Viet ERP (master data, mapping, missing landed cost, timing) and fix them – directly, or through the ERP vendor with clear specifications, test cases and sign-off.
- Map and document the end-to-end costing data flow (purchase order, import cost, warehouse receipt, sales issue, COGS posting) and the controls at each step.
- Design and implement automation of costing checks and reconciliations (ERP configuration, Excel/Power Query, Power BI or similar) to shorten the costing close and remove manual work; lead user acceptance testing of any system change.
4. Net Sales & Revenue Deductions
- Review net sales against the approved sales pricing policy by channel and customer; ensure invoiced prices, discounts and promotion schemes match the approved terms.
- Verify revenue deductions – trade discounts, promotional support, rebates, returns and damaged goods – for accuracy, completeness and compliance with company policy, customer contracts and tax regulations (VAT/CIT).
- Ensure month-end accruals for discounts and rebates are complete, reconciled to settlements and cleared on time.
5. Gross Profit Analysis
- Prepare monthly Gross Profit by Brand, by channel and total company GP, reconciled to the P&L.
- Analyse GP movements by driver (price, volume/mix, landed cost, revenue deductions) with concise commentary; flag margin risks early to the Chief Accountant and management.
- Provide reliable GP and cost data for brand claim-back, pricing decisions, budgeting and group reporting.
6. Team Leadership & Other Duties
- Lead, coach and review the inventory accounting team; set SOPs, checklists, deadlines and backup arrangements.
- Support external, group and tax audits on inventory, COGS and revenue deductions.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Chief Accountant.
