PCB Layout Engineering Lead

Team Leadership & Project Management

·       Analyze project specifications, technical requirements, and development schedules.

·       Allocate project tasks to team members based on their capabilities, experience, and performance.

·       Monitor project progress, provide technical guidance, and ensure on-time completion of design deliverables.

PCB Design & Development

·       Design, review, and optimize PCB layouts for switching mode power supply and charger, and mixed-signal applications.

·       Collaborate closely with Hardware and Mechanical Engineering teams on schematic implementation, enclosure constraints, thermal management, and manufacturability considerations.

·       Ensure PCB designs comply with project specifications, design guidelines, EMC/EMI requirements, safety standard, and IPC in PCB design standards.

·       Conduct PCB layout reviews with production engineer and PCB vender to improve design quality and performance.

Library Management

·       Create and maintain component libraries including schematic symbols, PCB footprints, 3D models as per IPC-735/IPC-7251or recommendation from manufacturer.

Manufacturing Data Preparation

·       Generate, review, and validate PCB manufacturing documentation, including: Gerber files, ODB++, Assembly drawings, Panelization files, Pick & Place data, BOM

·       Coordinate with PCB fabrication and PCBA vendors to resolve manufacturing-related issues.

Design Verification & Technical Support

·       Apply DFM, DFA, and DFT principles throughout the design process.

·       Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting at PCB, PCBA, and product design levels.

·       Recommend corrective and preventive actions for pass failure design-related issues.

Experience 

• Minimum 3 years of experience in PCB design. 

• Previous experience leading or mentoring a PCB design team is preferred. 

• Experience in power electronics, industrial electronics, or automotive products is an advantage. 

Technical Skills 

• Proficient in PCB design tools such as Pulsonix, Altium Designer, or equivalent. 

• Experience with Pulsonix is a strong advantage. 

• Strong understanding of: 

• PCB layout design principles 

• Power electronics layout 

• EMI/EMC requirements 

• Thermal management concepts 

• Familiarity with PCB fabrication and PCBA manufacturing processes. 

• Experience with DFM, DFA, and DFT methodologies. 

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills at PCB and PCBA levels
