Job description:
The Accounting Manager is the overall owner of the Finance/Accounting function in Vietnam, covering accounting, treasury, tax, statutory compliance, and financial governance. The role also oversees the development of the Controlling/FP&A function, which is supported by an existing team member. This is a hands‑on position in a small team environment where the manager is expected to both lead and perform day‑to‑day operational tasks. The position reports to the Director of Finance Operations Asia.
Financial Accounting & Operations
· Collaborate with global and regional finance teams to ensure timely delivery of Besi financial reporting packages and management reports in line with IFRS.
· Ensure full compliance with Vietnam statutory requirements, regulatory obligations, and corporate accounting policies.
· Oversee AR and AP processes, ensuring proper invoice verification, SAP postings, VAT invoicing, and issue resolution; perform transactional tasks when required.
· Manage fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and monthly/annual reconciliations in SAP.
· Lead month‑end closing activities, journal postings, and reconciliations between general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
· Oversee cash flow and banking operations, including cash forecasting, payment scheduling, and daily bank reconciliation.
Tax Compliance & Risk Management
· Ensure full compliance with Vietnam tax regulations: VAT, Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Foreign Contractor Tax (FCT), and other applicable taxes.
· Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns; coordinate with tax agents when required.
· Support CIT finalization, VAT refund processes, and responses to tax authority inquiries.
· Monitor tax changes and assess impact on the company; provide recommendations to management on mitigating tax risks.
Finance Leadership & Governance
· Lead the Finance function in Vietnam, including accounting, tax, treasury, statutory reporting, and financial controls.
· Work closely with local management in Vietnam to provide financial insights, explain variances, and support operational decisions.
· Develop and strengthen the Controlling/FP&A function by guiding the FP&A team member and ensuring high‑quality budgets, forecasts, and performance analyses.
· Act as the key finance contact for external auditors, tax agents, and government authorities during audits, statutory reviews, and inspections.
· Drive internal control and process improvements and ensure compliance with group policies and local regulations.
Other responsibilities
· Coordinate with banks on payments, loans, interest calculations, foreign currency transactions, and deposit management.
· Support ad‑hoc financial analysis and other finance-related duties as assigned.
· Bachelor's/ Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional certifications such as ACCA/VACPA are a plus).
· 5–8+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or tax; experience in manufacturing is preferred.
· Strong technical knowledge of Vietnam Accounting Standards (VAS) and exposure to IFRS.
· Hands‑on experience with SAP (FI/CO).
· Strong understanding of Vietnam tax regulations (VAT, CIT, FCT).
· Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
· Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
· Experience leading a small team is an advantage.
