Job Description

1. Job Purpose: 

  • Provides direct support to actuarial experts and project directors in executing technical components of the IFRS 17 project. This role focuses on conducting operational research, running model simulations, managing data inputs/outputs, and ensuring compliance with new actuarial workflows designed for the IFRS 17 transition and running state.

2. Key Responsibilities:

a. Model Execution & Testing:

• Participate in running and testing upgraded Prophet actuarial models for IFRS 17 valuation (cash flows, discounting, risk adjustment).

• Execute testing for level of aggregation grouping and VFA/PAA eligibility assessments based on the company's actual product portfolio data.

b. Data Studies & Gathering:

• Collaborate with relevant departments to collect, clean, and standardize historical data required for opening balance sheet calculations and transition approach selection.

• Contribute to expense studies, persistency studies, and the determination of input assumptions for IFRS 17 actuarial models.

c. CSM Calculation & Reporting Support:

• Perform detailed calculations regarding the Contractual Service Margin (CSM), Loss Component, and the periodic release of revenue/expenses under the guidance of the Actuary Expert.

• Assist in drafting technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IFRS 17-related actuarial processes.

d. Cross-functional Alignment:

• Act as a bridge between the Actuarial and Finance & Accounting departments to ensure reconciliation and data integrity between actuarial results and the General Ledger.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or related fields. Progress towards professional actuarial exams (SOA/IFoA) is a strong plus
  • Minimum 3–5 years of actuarial experience within a Life Insurance company.
  • Priority experience participating in actuarial model enhancement projects, product pricing, or introductory involvement in IFRS 17/ IFRS 4 Phase II transition projects.
  • Proficiency in Prophet, R, Python, Excel VBA, SQL Proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., Prophet ) and data processing tools (SQL, Python, or advanced VBA/Excel).
  • Solid foundation in life insurance mathematics and actuarial/financial principles.
  • High attention to detail, proactive work attitude, strong teamwork abilities, and flexibility to adapt to tight project deadlines.
