BI Engineer

Function/Department description

The Research and Development (R&D) Department is responsible for innovating and optimizing processes to improve productivity and efficiency while reducing costs. This includes developing new procedures, enhancing current processes, managing and visualizing data using tools like Power BI, and addressing raw material issues by developing supplier areas and ensuring the quality of raw materials.

Purpose of the position  

The Senior Process R&D Optimization Executive is responsible for implementing improvement projects in the factory and optimizing equipment processes. This role includes performing detailed calculations and simulations before implementation, continuously updating new technology solutions and applying them in the factory, collaborating with the team to improve processes, and supporting the factory team as needed.

Main Responsibilities: 

The Senior Process R&D Optimization Executive responsibilities are to:

1. Business Intelligence System Development & Technical Evaluation

•                  Manage and develop the Business Intelligence (BI) system to support analytics and business decision-making.

•                  Build and maintain dashboards and data pipelines integrating sources such as ERP, IoT, and SCADA.

•                  Evaluate and optimize data infrastructure to ensure stability, scalability, and performance.

•                  Conduct data modeling, simulations, and technical feasibility assessments for new solutions.

2.              Data System Optimization & Continuous Innovation

•                  Develop and enhance the company’s data ecosystem through new technologies such as Microsoft Fabric and AI analytics.

•                  Integrate and leverage IoT, SCADA, and other data systems to support process optimization and digital transformation.

•                  Lead BI improvement and innovation projects following Lean/IWS methodologies.

•                  Research, update, and implement emerging data technologies to improve efficiency and business insights.

3.              Cross-functional Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer

•                  Cross-functional collaboration: Provide technical advice and guidance on implementing process changes to the factory team as needed.

•                  Problem-solving: Analyse and resolve issues related to production processes and equipment, work closely with stakeholders for solving problems that arise at the site.

•                  Conduct on-the-job training, cross-training or coaching to the production team on processes, equipment and troubleshooting methods.

4.              Compliance & Reporting

•                  Ensure compliance: Ensure that processes and equipment comply with regulations and quality standards.

•                  Report and track progress: Report progress and results of improvement projects to the Process R&D Optimization Manager and monitor and assess the effectiveness of implemented improvements. Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by the manager.

5.              Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Process R&D Optimization Manager to support the overall improvement and operational efficiency of the factory.

Education: 

•     Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or other relevant science-based disciplines

Experience:   

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in production/process engineering, continuous improvement, or technical support roles in manufacturing

Languages

•      Fluency in English is required and preferred in additional languages. IT

•      General computer literacy.
