Job Description

Position objective:

The Chief Accountant is responsible for managing the overall accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory regulations, and effective financial controls in accordance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and internal policies. The role supports the Head of Finance & Accounting in financial management, budgeting, and operational decision-making, particularly within the education sector environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1.  Accounting System Management and Operations
  • Organize, manage, and control all accounting and financial activities of the company in compliance with applicable laws and current accounting standards.
  • Develop and improve accounting processes, accounting books and records, standardize accounting report templates, and supervise their implementation.
  • Ensure proper accounting treatment of revenue, tuition fees, scholarships, and other education-related transactions.
  1. Financial Reporting and Control
  • Prepare periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annually) in accordance with the requirements of regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinate with independent auditors to conduct annual financial statement audits.
  • Ensure financial reports are submitted on time, accurately, and transparently.
  • Prepare reports for the Board of Management and the Board of Directors upon request.
  1. Compliance and Accounting–Tax Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with regulations on taxation, accounting, finance, securities laws, and other relevant regulations.
  • Work with tax authorities, auditors, and inspectors upon request.
  • Coordinate with the legal department to review contracts and transactions related to accounting and finance.Prepare and ensure the accuracy of financial and compliance reports required by partners, investors, educational authorities, and other stakeholders.
  1. Team Management and Internal Coordination
  • Manage, coach, and develop the accounting team.
  • Closely collaborate with other departments (operations, legal, human resources, internal control, etc.) to ensure effective financial operations.
  1. Budget and Cash Flow Management
  • Prepare, monitor and control the annual budget, and develop cash flow forecasts to ensure the financial stability of the Company/School.
  • Support daily financial operations and participate in the development and implementation of the School’s annual tuition fee policy.
  1. Other tasks as assigned by the Head of Finance & Accounting

Job Requirement

Position requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Chief Accountant certification (Vietnam) is required
  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA are a plus.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software, including ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Vietnamese.
