Engineering Data Management Specialist

1. Summary:

An engineering data management specialist owns the product data management system and ensures that all engineering data (specifications, BoM’s, project documentation, data sheets,etc.) are properly managed and controlled. In this job, you are the interface between IT and engineering functions. Key in this job is to ensure that it is clear to everyone in Sonion which documentation is the latest one, where it can be found and how it links to other data. Improvements in the interconnection between our systems have to be initiated to secure this

2. Main Responsibilities:

Drive system cleanup and optimization

• Sonion’s engineering data is stored in several systems (PDM, ERP, sharepoint, MES). The links between these systems shall be maintained, optimized and/or automated.
• Legacy systems are to be cleaned up, transferred and phased out in close cooperation with its users
• Optimize version management and change management

For the optimizations support & consultation of senior management will be available.

Data management

• Set-up suitable meta-data system
• Advise engineering team on best way to store data
• Assess changes and ensure that the right documentation is changed at the right time

Reporting and analysis

• Develop and implement suitable reports for engineering data

Collaboration with other teams/departments

• Be a trusted partner and peer with the R&D project teams to deliver recommendations that address project and process improvements
• Develop and execute projects to optimize use and storage of engineering data

Employee is responsible in proactively receive, search, learn and comply with prevailing law and company regulation which are communicated via internal information channels including broadcasting, email, SBS (Sonion Business System), notice board and electronic notice in every area. This content includes but not limited to: ISO on Quality Management, Environment Occupation Health & Safety, Code of conduct and Corporate Social Responsibility, Labor safety and Fire Prevention and Fighting, Work Rule and Employee Handbook and other internal regulations.

Attending concerned training courses of QMS–ISO 9001, EMS-ISO 14001, OH&SMS-ISO45001 where required.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, engineering, IT or a related field.
• Open for fresh hires with a sharp mind, as well as candidates with experience in this field.
• Fluent English language skills.

• Experience in actual use/creation/integration of engineering data and experience in PDM/PLM/ERP systems are an advantage.
