Job Description

This role blends design, engineering, and merchandising to create innovative casegoods furniture. You will collaborate across teams to develop products that are functional, high-quality, and aligned with market trends from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Design & Merchandising Support

  • Create design presentations, mood boards, and concept visuals to communicate ideas effectively.
  • Research market trends, competitor products, and consumer preferences to guide design decisions.
  • Support the development and execution of product lines and merchandising strategies.
  • Develop and refine product specifications to ensure quality, usability, and manufacturability.
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with R&D Engineering (US & Vietnam teams) to evaluate design feasibility and ensure practical implementation.
  • Work with the Merchandising team on product positioning, pricing, and assortment planning.
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing team on material selection and finishing options.
  • Coordinate with the Sample Development team during prototyping and product iteration.
3. Continuous Improvement & Design Contribution
  • Participate in product development meetings, contributing ideas to enhance design and functionality.
  • Maintain organized design documentation, technical drawings, and project records.
  • Assist in developing and presenting seasonal collections.
  • Support product photography and catalog creation to strengthen market presentation.
4. Additional Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned casegoods projects from concept to completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Department Head.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Furniture design or merchandising is preferred; fresh graduates with a strong foundation are encouraged to apply (training will be provided).
  • Basic understanding of furniture manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, CAD software, Solidworks and MS Offices.
  • Solid knowledge of furniture design principles, current trends, and color theory.
  • Strong visual presentation and organizational skills.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good command of English, with clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing for frequent business travel if neccessary.
