Haiphong - H&S Officer

Maintaining overall HSE operation aligns with SGS policies, guidelines, directives and applicable local legislative requirements for ensure effective implementation, consistent throughout SGS Vietnam and ensure a safe working environment for all employees, clients and contractors

Reporting to the H&S Manager, this role supports Business Units (BUs) and oversees HSE facilities across branch locations. Participates in cross-internal audit programs at other site/ lab.    
Designing and implementing the HSE monitoring program with H&S Manager    
Addressing safety issues within the Laboratory/ Field and incharge of safety site walk, HSE Meeting     
Providing HSE training to Laboratory/ Field management, middle management/supervisors (who are the trainers for most of the operational staff)    
Pushing the initiatives and campaigns as requested by H&S manager and Global/Regional and reporting the progress regularly    
"Deciding and preparing the safe talk program for each position of staff within the Laboratory/ Field.
Working with operational management on the training matrix for each position "    
Identifying high risk operations, organizing the risk assessment program and driving technical team to inject safety elements into SOP    
Participate to promote employees, contractors safety awareness by Safety Topics, Safety Talk, Safety Campaign operating.    
Prepare emergency plan and organize drill operation of fire, first aid, chemical spill … periodically    
Develop database of best practice and unsafe action and condition and recommend lesson learnt and broadcast for improvement.    
Collect data related to HSE / IH performance, analyses the trends and report to Global, Regional and local agencies periodically as required.    
Leading the Incident Investigation in the laboratory and corrective action plan.    

"•    University degree for Safety, Health, Environmental Engineering, or Degree from Engineering Majors (Electrical; Civil; Mechanical; Fire fighting…)"    
"•    Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental at least 2 years’ experience HSE Laboratory/Inspection. "    
"•    Qualification on and HSE Legal. "    
"•    Strong computer skills, negotiation "    
"•    Well-developed presentation and training skills. "    
"•    Proven ability to promote safety awareness and foster a safety culture"    
"•    Good writing, reading, speaking and listening skills in English."
