POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced Head of Data to lead UrBox‘s data transformation journey and establish data as a strategic growth driver across the organization.
This role will be responsible for defining the company‘s Data strategy, building scalable data foundations, enabling business intelligence, and driving AI adoption that enhances customer engagement, loyalty performance, operational efficiency and business growth.
Reporting directly to the Executive Leadership Team, the Head of Data will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders while building and leading a high-performing Data function that supports UrBox‘s next stage of growth.
Main Responsibilities
1. Data Strategy
- Define and execute UrBox‘s enterprise Data strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Build and govern the enterprise data architecture to ensure scalability, reliability, security, and data consistency.
- Identify and prioritize high-impact data initiatives and use cases that create measurable business value.
- Drive data literacy and foster a data-driven culture to support business decision-making.
2. Data Platform & Engineering
- Lead the development and continuous enhancement of the enterprise data platform, architecture, and data pipelines.
- Ensure high-quality, reliable, and accessible data across customer, merchant, campaign, and transaction domains.
- Build and maintain a scalable data foundation that supports reporting, analytics, and business growth.
3. Business Intelligence & Customer Analytics
- Drive initiatives that improve customer retention, reward utilization, campaign ROI and revenue growth.
- Develop reporting frameworks and monitor departmental KPIs, tracking monthly performance and progress against business objectives.
- Generate actionable insights across customer behavior, loyalty engagement, merchant performance and campaign effectiveness.
- Develop data products, dashboards, and self-service analytics that enable business teams to make faster and more informed decisions.
- Develop and enhance data-driven fraud detection and anomaly monitoring capabilities to proactively identify suspicious transactions and mitigate business risks.
4. Data Security & Governance
- Establish enterprise-wide data governance, including data access policies, role-based permissions, encryption standards, data lifecycle management, and compliance with applicable data protection and security requirements.
- Define and enforce enterprise data standards, business definitions, and input validation rules to ensure consistent, accurate, and trusted data across all source systems.
- Build sustainable data quality monitoring, validation, and governance processes to improve the trust, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data assets.
5. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing Data organization.
- Lead client-facing data and analytics initiatives, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions and measurable business outcomes.
- Partner closely with Product, Technology, Commercial, Marketing and Operations leaders to deliver business impact.
- Mentor team members and strengthen data capabilities across the company.
