Job Description

  • Lead and manage the tooling team responsible for design, fabrication, maintenance, and improvement of stamping dies
  • Oversee die design, development, and validation to ensure compatibility with product requirements and mass production
  • Ensure timely tooling readiness for new projects (NPI) and smooth handover to production
  • Manage die maintenance systems (preventive & corrective) to ensure high availability and minimize downtime
  • Analyze tooling-related defects and production issues (e.g., burrs, cracks, deformation) and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Optimize die performance, tool life, and stamping processes to improve productivity and reduce cost
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturability (DFM)
  • Manage tooling suppliers and subcontractors (if applicable), including technical evaluation and performance monitoring
  • Control tooling budget, cost tracking, and continuous cost reduction initiatives
  • Establish and standardize tooling procedures, documentation, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in tooling operations
  • Develop team capabilities through training, coaching, and performance management

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in stamping tooling, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong expertise in stamping die design, structure, and troubleshooting
  • Experience in automotive or metal stamping manufacturing is highly preferred
  • Solid knowledge of tooling materials, heat treatment, and machining processes
  • Familiar with CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, CATIA, NX, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of stamping processes, press machines, and die maintenance systems
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • English communication is preferred (technical reading/writing required)
