HN/ HCM - Senior Structural Engineer - Eurocodes (EC2 - EC3)

· Design and calculations (SCIA Engineer or equivalent). Structural analysis and making calculation report of the following but not limited to:

° Steel structures (open and closed)

- Multi storey sway and non-sway structures.

- To design pipe racks and supporting structures of equipment.

- Fire resistant structures (determine critical steel temperature).

- Structural analysis of steel connections.

- To design connections between steel and other materials such as concrete / prefabricated concrete.

° Concrete structures (open and closed)

- Foundation: beams, pile caps, slabs etc..

- Floors labs, on sand or piles.

- Liquid tight floors / tank pits / structures.

- Superstructures poured on site.

- Prefab systems for buildings / structures.

- Fire resistant concrete structures.

° Realistic estimate of foundations and masonry structures.

° To assess constructability of structures, also with regard to other disciplines.

° To design earthquake resistant structures (experience is a plus)

· Making concepts and structural solutions for both steel and concrete buildings / structures.

· Guidance junior / structural engineer in order to develop concept and structural solution of buildings / structures.

· Review the result of tasks of junior / structural engineer.

· Communication with the Belgium Industrial Team on a daily basis, via a 3D environment such as Navisworks, Revit or BIMCOLLAB.

· Coordination of the design and interface with other disciplines, via a 3D environment such as Navisworks, Revit or BIMCOLLAB.

· Responsible for quality control of the design of the following but not limited to:

° Foundations: piles, foundations on steel, general floorboard,...

° Constructions of concrete: beams, columns, walls, floors, etc. Recessess for tank farms, quay walls.

° Steel constructions: open structures for industry, closed buildings, halls, piping bridges, hoist installations (runways, monorails).

° Structural solutions of buildings / structures

· Manage and/or archive files/documents according to internal procedures

· Other duties upon request.

·      Dynamic and motivated Structural Engineer with a least 7-10 years of proven experience working in a similar position and work scope.

·      Ability to work independently and/or in team on multiple projects simultaneously

·      Excellent knowledge of Calculation software such as SCIA Engineer or equivalent.

·      Have good knowledge of 3D design software REVIT, Navisworks and other Civil/ Industrial Design related software.

·      Construction site experience is a plus

·      In-depth knowledge of international codes for related field, especially Eurocodes EC2 and EC3

·      Practical experience (min. 5 projects) in designing, calculation in one of the following industry:

°     Ferro-Non Ferro

°     (Petro) Chemical

°     Pharma

°     Power Systems

°     Nuclear

°     Water management

·      Knowledge of / experience with specific architectural design (foundations / steel / concrete) and design codes.

·      Knowledge of / experience with other industrial disciplines such as Piping and Mechanical Equipment.

·      Eye for details

·      Excellent communication, organizational skills.

·      Taking responsibility for the quality control of the deliverables.  

·      Good knowledge of AutoCad and MS Office.

·      Fluent English speaking and writing.

·      Willing to travel to Belgium for training or projects.
