JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Develop safety culture/system strategies aligned with the organization's business development strategy. Monitor, advise the Leadership Team on strategic risks, and measure strategy effectiveness
  2. In collaboration with the Plant leadership team and Regional EHS, drive delivery of Primary Health Care (PHC) and Global Ball Operational Excellence (BOE) EHS strategy, KPIs, and programs through identification, implementation, and monitoring of local initiatives.
  3. Develop and implement BBS and proactive reporting and engagement initiatives such as near miss, hazard, and/or good catch to promote safe behaviors and develop a positive safety culture.
  4. Identify and ensure compliance with EHS compliance obligations (e.g., laws, regulations, permits, licenses, etc.) and other stakeholder requirements (e.g. FSPP insurance).
  5. Ensure plant management and workers are aware of, take ownership of, and deliver on their respective EHS accountabilities and responsibilities, including deputies to cover absences. Escalate issues promptly to the plant manager and Regional EHS.
  6. Implement and maintain a hazard identification and risk assessment programs that reflects hazards during normal, abnormal, and emergency conditions and apply the hierarchy of control. Incorporate Ball BOE, LiFE, and hazard mapping into risk management programs.
  7. Identify and assess environmental aspects and manage significant impacts under normal, abnormal, and emergency conditions, including emissions to air, waste, water, wastewater, energy, and VOCs. Implement programs to manage significant impacts such as waste minimization management strategy, pollution prevention, and ecological issues. Manage environmental protection infrastructure.
  8. Manage the timely reporting, recording, investigation, and identification of root causes of EHS incidents and complaints, along with oversight of corrective actions, including Global reporting via Enablon and Alerts.
  9. Work with functional department leaders to develop and implement EHS programs, requirements, rules, procedures, and systems to manage EHS risks, meet all EHS requirements, and drive continuous improvement.
  10. Establish and implement robust communication and consultation channels to raise awareness, drive engagement, and provide information on EHS issues, including oversight of the EHS committee and liaison with Safety Representatives.
  11. Implement and maintain integrated EHS management systems (and where applicable, maintain certification to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, FSSC, and integrate with ISO 9001), including oversight of external and internal audits, FSPP surveys, and management reviews, compliance with legal regulations, licenses/certificates. Follow up on corrective actions.
  12. Implement occupational/industrial hygiene, occupational health, and well-being programs in accordance with identified risks and legal requirements, in consultation with HR and external providers.
  13. Liaise with other functional leads such as HR, Engineering and maintenance, production, process, continuous improvement, and facilities to coordinate EHS activities.
  14. Act as primary liaison with regulatory authorities and other external stakeholders (e.g., FSPP insurers, auditors) and internal stakeholders (Regional and Global EHS, Group Insurance, Group Security), ensuring their requirements and reporting are dealt with efficiently.
  15. Serve as a key member or leader of the Emergency Response Team in managing critical EHS situations such as: serious accidents, major environmental incidents, or unannounced inspections from regulatory authorities.
  16. Manage EHS budget, propose EHS-related investments (guarding, ventilation, monitoring, and treatment systems). Evaluate cost-effectiveness of EHS initiatives
  17. Train, evaluate the effectiveness of the EHS team, allocate work, build and develop EHS team capabilities
  18. Regularly update local regulations related to EHS practices, and lead all revisions in policies and practices to ensure compliance
  19. Other reasonable tasks as assignment of Plant Manager

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor/Engineering in EHS or Environmental Management or Engineering fields including relevant qualification stipulated in the country of operation
  • At least 3 years in an EHS managerial role in manufacturing, heavy engineering, construction or similar industry with proactive shopfloor engagement and comprehensive knowledge of EHS risks and issues
  • At least 10 years of EHS working experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of EHS legislative requirements
  • Working knowledge of implementing Behavioural based safety programs
  • Managing fire safety and property protection insurance risks
  • Excellent computer skills (Proficient in MS Office Suite)
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
