Job Description

Import Logistics:

  • Manage inbound containers from arrival to final destination, minimizing demurrage charges.
  • Prioritize container delivery based on various factors (due dates, equipment, capacity, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot issues preventing container movement and maintain accurate delivery information.
  • Update inventory for non-systemized warehouses and verify discrepancies in shipments.
  • Process container unloading, report shortages/overages, and notify relevant parties.
  • Handle diversion requests, update systems, and collaborate internally.
  • Investigate equipment held beyond free time and recommend solutions.

Export Logistics:

  • Book shipments, confirm equipment, and monitor for timely arrival at ports/rails.
  • Ensure pool equipment dwell times adhere to contracts.
  • Coordinate live loads with shipping and trucking companies.
  • Collaborate with specialists to ensure timely deliveries to international customers.
  • Track export shipments, ensuring timely arrival at destinations.
  • Manage ocean freight payments and update internal systems.
  • Review and analyze freight statements, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.
  • Analyze EDI information, ensuring data integrity for U.S. Customs clearance.

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external partners.
  • Manage international correspondence according to U.S. Customs requirements.
  • Contribute to team performance measures and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Stay informed about industry changes and share relevant findings with management.

Job Requirement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in International Business, Business Administration, Import/Export or equivalent experience.
  • Have 1 year of experience or below.

  • Strong understanding of import logistics and basic customs regulations.
  • Excellent English communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Customer service and professionalism in handling challenging situations.
