JOB SUMMARY
The ME Supervisor reports directly to the ME Manager and is responsible for directly managing a team of technicians within an assigned focus factory — including task assignment, performance evaluation, and ensuring discipline in the team's execution of work. This is a key role in managing high-frequency change-over activities, ensuring all machine, equipment, and fixture/jig preparation steps are carried out per checklist, within proper scope of responsibility, and to required standards of safety, quality, and output. The ME Supervisor stays closely aligned with actual production conditions at the focus factory, receives plans from the Planner (PMC), proactively plans maintenance and machine/fixture preparation for change-overs and new product introductions, and works closely with cross-functional teams (IE, PIE, Production, Quality — IPQC/MQA) to ensure production activities at the focus factory run continuously, stably, and on schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
1. Team Leadership & People Management
- Directly manage and lead a team of ME technicians within the assigned focus factory, including daily task assignment and workload balancing.
- Monitor and evaluate technician performance; enforce work discipline, adherence to SOPs, and accountability for assigned tasks.
- Conduct on-the-job coaching and skill development for technicians (troubleshooting, changeover technique, equipment handling).
- Manage technician attendance, shift coverage, and escalate HR/discipline issues per company policy.
- Conduct regular team briefings (daily/shift handover) to align on production priorities and outstanding issues.
2. Change-Over Planning & Execution
- Review the production schedule from PMC/Planner and translate it into a clear change-over (CO) plan for the team.
- Assign and prioritize CO preparation tasks (fixture, jig, machine setting) across the team ahead of each change-over window.
- Ensure 100% checklist compliance for every CO — machine acceptance, fixture setup, first article verification — before line handover to Production.
- Track CO time performance against target; identify and escalate root causes of CO delays or non-compliance.
- Drive adherence to standard CO procedures ("thao tác đúng") to minimize errors and rework.
3. Machine, Fixture & Equipment Readiness
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance for machines, fixtures, and tools within the focus factory.
- Lead troubleshooting of machine/fixture breakdowns to minimize downtime; escalate to Automation/Facility/vendor when needed.
- Verify machine and fixture acceptance (calibration, functional test) after maintenance, repair, or changeover.
- Coordinate spare parts availability and repair prioritization with relevant support teams.
4. New Product Introduction (NPI) Support
- Prepare lines, fixtures, and equipment for new product trial runs and mass production ramp up.
- Support Master Sample / Golden Sample verification and line readiness sign-off for new models.
- Feed back fixture/tooling issues found during trial runs to Engineering for design correction.
5. Quality & Safety Compliance
- Ensure all machines and fixtures at the focus factory meet safety standards (ESD, electrical safety, mechanical guarding) and quality requirements.
- Identify, report, and correct non-compliance (5S, safety, process) within the area of responsibility.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action for quality issues linked to machine/fixture condition
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work daily with IE, PIE, Production, and Quality (IPQC/MQA) to align on production plans, line changes, and issue resolution.
- Participate in daily production meetings, representing ME status and escalating risks proactively.
- Coordinate with PMC on schedule changes and their impact on CO/maintenance planning.
7. Data & Reporting
- Record and maintain change-over time, downtime, and quality issue data for the focus factory.
- Report team performance, CO compliance, and equipment status to the ME Manager on a regular basis.
- Contribute data and observations to continuous improvement initiatives.
