Job Description

The Manufacturing Architect will lead the strategic design, planning, and execution of a complete replacement of our manufacturing software systems and core business processes with modern and AI enabled systems paired with leading edge solutions. This role collaborates cross-functionally with technical teams, business stakeholders, and operations leaders to deliver modern, efficient, and scalable solutions aligned with organizational objectives.

This section describes the primary / essential responsibilities that this job performs. 

1.    Oversee all phases of the manufacturing software and process transformation from assessment and design through implementation and rollout.

2.    Architect end-to-end solutions for shop floor, MES, ERP and integration frameworks that support operational efficiency, data integrity, and scalability.

3.    Gather and analyze the technology landscape, market research, and customer feedback to incorporate into future product

4.    Conduct gap analyses of current systems, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend best-fit technologies and process enhancements. 

5.    Lead the evaluation, selection, and deployment of new hardware, software, and digital tools in line with business goals.

6.    Define technical and business requirements, craft documentation, and set architecture standards and policies for manufacturing technologies.

7.    Collaborate with IT, operations, engineering, and quality teams to ensure change adoption, training, and operational readiness.

8.    Ensure compliance with US and International regulatory standards, data governance policies, safety, and industry best practices.

9.    Develop, manage, and execute change management and risk mitigation strategies throughout project lifecycles.

10.    Monitor system performance, troubleshoot implementation issues, and optimize solutions post-go-live.

11.    Mentor stakeholders on new system functionalities and continuously drive innovation within the manufacturing technology stack. 

12.    Ensure reasonable service level for the resolution of issues, and that a support system is built through configuration to achieve business outcomes.  Work with Operations and Product Owners to improve usability through correct and managed system configurations.

13.    Support the Product Team in developing and maintaining product roadmaps aligned with business strategy.

14.    Guide the team to write detailed technical specifications and user stories

15.    Collaborate with engineering teams and other architects to ensure successful code delivery

16.    Collaborate with the business to gather requirments and documentation for future work

17.    Work with Product Team and Operations to ensure means for successful rollout to users

18.    Oversee the execution of light development tasks by support resources

Job Requirement

Education:    

•    Ideal: Degree in Computer Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar

Experience:    
•    8+ years of manufacturing IT experience in manufacturing systems design, software implementation, or process engineering, including hands-on leadership of major replacement or transformation projects.
•    Deep experience with AI and Automation processes and an AI-First mentality
•    Deep technical experience that you can talk to and support

Licenses or Certifications    
•    As a technical Architect, you should have many.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
