Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • Painting Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily painting operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery commitments are achieved. This role supervises painting personnel, monitors production performance, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with automotive quality and appearance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily painting operations, including surface preparation, primer application, base coat, clear coat, and curing processes.
  • Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor production output, manpower utilization, equipment efficiency, and productivity performance.
  • Coordinate shift activities and allocate resources effectively to achieve production targets.
  • Review production plans and adjust manpower and equipment utilization as needed.
  • Ensure painted products meet customer specifications and automotive appearance standards.
  • Monitor key quality indicators, including first-pass yield, defect rates, rework, and customer complaints.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for paint defects such as orange peel, runs, sags, pinholes, dust contamination, and color variation.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Maintenance teams to implement preventive measures and process improvements.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback to support workforce development.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork across departments.
  • Enforce compliance with all safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Automotive Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in painting/coating operations within the automotive, aerospace, composites, or industrial manufacturing industry.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Experience with manual, robotic painting systems.
  • Knowledge of paint defect analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze production data and drive performance improvements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
  • Good English communication skills.
