Job Description

Reports to: Brand Manager;

Office Location: 311 Tay Thanh, Tay Thanh Ward, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City;

Working time: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (Monday – Friday) and 8:30 - 12:30 (Saturday Morning).

Responsibilities:

1. Pattern Development:

  • Create precise patterns from design sketches and technical specifications;
  • Develop initial patterns using both manual drafting methods and CAD software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra);
  • Ensure patterns reflect the desired style, fit, and construction techniques while considering technical feasibility.

2. Fit Adjustments:

  • Collaborate with the Garment Technician during fit sessions to evaluate garment prototypes and identify fit issues;
  • Adjust patterns based on feedback from fit sessions to meet brand fit standards;
  • Communicate pattern revisions to the Garment Technician and relevant teams for alignment.

3. Size Grading:

  • Develop size grading rules to scale patterns for a full size range while maintaining proportions and fit integrity;
  • Ensure consistency across all sizes and garment styles in collaboration with the Garment Technician.

4. Team Collaboration:

  • Partner with the Garment Technician to align patterns with tech pack specifications;
  • Collaborate with designers to understand their vision and provide technical input on design feasibility;
  • Work closely with sample makers and provide guidance to ensure patterns are accurately interpreted during garment assembly.

5. Quality Assurance:

  • Verify patterns meet quality and construction standards before production;
  • Collaborate with the Garment Technician to identify and address potential production issues early in the development process.

6. Pattern Archiving:

  • Maintain a library of patterns, ensuring proper organization and version control;
  • Update patterns based on design, fit, or production feedback in partnership with the Garment Technician.

7. Production Support:

  • Provide finalized patterns to the production team for bulk manufacturing;
  • Address and resolve pattern-related issues that arise during production, coordinating with the Garment Technician as needed.

Job Requirement

1. Education and Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pattern maker in the fashion industry.

2. Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in pattern-making software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra) and manual drafting techniques;
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric behavior, and sewing techniques;
  • Expertise in grading and fit analysis.

3. Soft Skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail and precision;
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address fit and construction challenges;
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional team;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
