Job Summary
The role is responsible for driving plant-wide performance improvement through structured problem solving, cross-functional project execution, operational analytics, and governance mechanisms. The position will act as a central coordination and execution role across departments to identify operational gaps, define root causes, drive corrective actions, implement sustainable controls, and improve overall plant efficiency, cost performance, and management visibility. The role requires strong analytical capability, operational understanding, and the ability to work independently across multiple functions without direct authority.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plant Performance Management
- Monitor and analyze plant performance across productivity, cost, manpower, utilization, quality, and operational efficiency metrics.
- Identify operational gaps, trends, recurring losses, and improvement opportunities through detailed data analysis.
- Convert high-level management concerns into clearly defined operational problem statements.
2. Cross-Functional Improvement Projects
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional improvement initiatives across production, maintenance, quality, planning, warehouse, and support functions.
- Define project scope, targets, timelines, ownership, and expected impact.
- Drive execution discipline through structured follow-up and escalation mechanisms.
- Ensure projects achieve measurable and sustainable business outcomes.
Examples of projects may include: productivity & cost, manpower & utilization, quality (scrap/rework), changeover reduction, and KPI/process control standardization.
3. Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving
- Conduct structured root cause analysis using operational data and shopfloor observations.
- Work closely with department teams to identify actual drivers behind performance gaps.
- Validate operational assumptions through detailed process-level investigation.
- Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
4. Governance, Controls & Sustainability
- Establish tracking mechanisms to monitor project effectiveness and sustainability.
- Develop operational dashboards, KPIs, review systems, and management reporting structures.
- Improve process discipline through controls, standardization, and review cadence.
- Ensure implemented improvements are sustained through proper monitoring systems.
5. Reporting & Operational Analytics
- Consolidate and structure plant operational data into actionable management insights.
- Improve reporting accuracy, consistency, and visibility across departments.
- Support management reviews with meaningful analysis and recommendations.
- Link operational performance with financial and cost impact.
6. Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with department heads and functional teams to drive alignment and execution.
- Facilitate structured review meetings and action closure discussions.
- Challenge assumptions and drive deeper analysis where required.
- Escalate critical risks and execution gaps appropriately.
