Job Description

  • Collaborate with engineering teams during early stage of the NPD process to proactively review and resolve issues related drawing callouts, GD&T.
  • Take responsibility for reviewing component drawing callouts to ensure sure compliance with ASME 14.5.
  • Provide technical recommendations and solutions to improve drawing callouts and ensure measurement feasibility. 
  • Develop gauge and fixture drawing to support measurement and inspection activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

  • Ensure that the datum structure reflects the intended assembly and functional requirements.
  • Ensure that dimension callouts are able to measurable consistent and accurate results using appropriate measurement equipment.
  • Review and provide technical guidance on supplier’s gauge and fixture designs to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and alignment with drawing requirements.
  • Develop and standardize measurement method and work instructions to eliminate measurement gaps between the metrology lab and suppliers’ lab.
  • Develop and enhance the technical capabilities for new engineers and technicians through structured training, coaching, and hands-on guidance

Job Requirement

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical designs engineering, or related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply structured methodologies to complex technical problems.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in design engineering or process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in GD&T and ASME 14.5, with extensive practical experience in applying GD&T to engineering drawings and measurement requirements.
  • Expertise in operating and applying measurement equipment, including CMM, VMM, 3D scan, profile, roundness machines.
  • Expertise in interpreting technical drawing, including feature control frame, datum structures.

Knowledge:

  • Design, manufacturing process, and assembly principle.
  • GD&T, ASME 14.5, Aukom 1, 2.
  • Measurement System Analysis (MSA).

Functional Skills:

  • Proficient in using NX software, CAD, and SolidWorks software.
  • Able to work independently, effectively, and collaboratively with cross functional teams.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English
