Job Description

The Product Engineer supports the Product Engineering Manager, manages sample runs, packing, and container mapping, and drives cost-saving and production improvements while resolving issues and enhancing product quality.

  • Review and release of pilot run documents to kick off mass production;
  • Collaborate with US teams across Engineering, Cover Fit, Design, and Pattern to innovate and improve products;
  • Partner with S&D, PUR, and QC to create new materials, process samples, and drive sample approval;
  • Work with US/China facilities to implement engineering changes and resolve production issues;
  • Act as a problem solver, guiding production to overcome engineering and quality challenges;
  • Spearhead cost-saving initiatives for UPH products, exploring new materials and packaging solutions;
  • Drive continuous innovation and cost-saving strategies for improved UPH products;
  • Play a key role in developing exciting new furniture projects, based on team objectives;
  • Tackle special projects and additional tasks, ensuring seamless operations as assigned by the Department Manager.

Job Requirement

1. Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field from universities (Candidates with a passion for learning in furniture industry).
  • Expertise in graphics design is a plus.

2. Experience:

  • From 1-year in an Engineering role within a large-scale, labor-intensive manufacturing companies;
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and statistical analysis. Experience with CAD, CAM, SolidWorks, and DraftSight is essential;
  • CNC programming knowledge is a strong advantage.

3. Knowledge:

  • Strong foundation in Lean Thinking & Lean Manufacturing;
  • Understanding of the Theory of Constraints;
  • Expertise in Statistical Process Control (SPC);
  • Experience in Project Management, Budgeting, and Cost Control;
  • Familiar with Change Management principles.

4. Skills & Abilities:
