Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Product Quality Engineer ensures product quality performance throughout the product lifecycle by managing customer quality, driving zero defect initiatives, executing contract review, and controlling nonconforming products through the MRB process.

MAIN DUTIES

Customer Quality

  • Serve as the key quality contact for customers regarding product quality issues.
  • Lead customer complaint handling and ensure timely corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

Zero Defect Projects & In House Quality

  • Drive defect prevention and continuous improvement activities to achieve “right first time” quality.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to reduce defects, improve COPQ & process stability.
  • Perform internal audits (product, system, special processes) to support compliance of PMV as assigned by the quality manager.
  • Follow-up actions after audits.
  • Perform product and documentation conformity verification in accordance with product requirements for specific customer release programs.
  • Issuing and signing certificates of conformance.
  • Validating Inspection reports, ATR when required
  • Support and liaise with the different Quality Clinics and functions amongst PMV and its customers on non-conformities processing
  • Collaborate with Engineering team during the sample development phase.

Contract Review

  • Review customer quality requirements for new products and engineering changes.
  • Ensure internal documents/specifications align with customer expectations and acceptance criteria.

MRB (Material Review Board)

  • Control nonconforming materials/products and coordinate MRB dispositions (use-as-is, rework, repair, scrap, return).
  • Maintain traceability and proper documentation for MRB decisions.

Other tasks assigned by superiors.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage assigned product quality KPIs: RPPM, IPMLS, complaint closure status, Internal PPM & COPQ.

Job Requirement

  • University graduated, Mechanical or electronics engineering preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English (immediate speaking and writing), French  is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product quality/ quality assurance in the manufacturing. Experience in mechanical or electronics manufacturing is preferred.
  • Experience with cross-functional team collaboration
  • Proficient in 7 quality tools, 5 core tools, 8D methodology, and Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or AITF 16949 or AS9100). AS9100 is highly preferred.
