Product Specialist (Beauty & Personal Care)

Report to: Brand Manager.

Location: 555 3/2 Street, Ward 8, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City.

Working time: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (Monday – Friday) and 8:30 - 12:30 (Saturday Morning).

I. Key Responsibilities:

A. Product Formula Development:

• Collaborate with laboratories and ingredient suppliers to research and propose new product formulas based on requirements.
• Monitor the formulation testing process, and document results related to stability, efficacy, and product safety.
• Assist in compatibility checks between ingredients and packaging to ensure product stability and performance.
• Participate in pilot batch trials to verify the formula’s feasibility for mass production.

B. Working with Manufacturing Facilities:

• Oversee the trial and mass production processes to ensure the final product meets required quality and technical specifications.
• Handle technical issues arising during production and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve and improve processes.
• Ensure that production procedures comply with safety standards and legal regulations.

C. Technical Data & Product Documentation Management:

• Prepare and manage technical documents for products, including formula descriptions, raw material standards, and finished product specifications.
• Coordinate with the Regulatory Affairs team to provide formula dossiers, testing, and product registration in accordance with regulations.
• Record and store results of testing reports (e.g., stability, compatibility, microbiological tests, etc.).

D. Trend Monitoring & Innovation in Ingredients and Technology:

• Stay updated with new trends in ingredients, manufacturing technologies, and safety standards in the industry.
• Propose formula or process improvements to enhance product quality and competitiveness.
• Maintain relationships with ingredient suppliers, manufacturers, and labs to ensure access to the latest information.

II. Requirements:

Experience:

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in product development, especially in cosmetics, beauty, or FMCG sectors.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Cosmetic Chemistry, Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields.

Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of product development, particularly in cosmetics/skincare/makeup.
• Market and consumer behavior understanding within the beauty industry.
• Strong skills in working with factories and R&D departments for product development.

Soft Skills:

• Leadership and team management abilities.
• Strategic thinking, creativity, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders (partners, manufacturers, agencies, etc.).
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
