Job Description

Our client is a leading jewelry manufacturing company based in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, specializing in precious metal jewelry. As part of its transformation toward becoming a premium jewelry brand in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, the company is seeking a Purchasing Manager to strengthen its purchasing execution and operational buying capabilities in a high-value manufacturing environment.

This role is responsible for executing purchasing activities based on approved production and procurement plans, ensuring that materials, tools, consumables, and equipment are purchased and delivered on time, in the right quantity, at the right cost, with full compliance and operational risk control.
Strategic procurement, supplier strategy, and sourcing governance are managed at the Procurement level; this role focuses on execution excellence and purchasing control.

Key Responsibilities

1. Purchasing Planning & Execution

  • Execute purchasing activities in line with approved procurement strategies and purchasing plans

  • Convert production schedules and approved demand into purchase orders for raw materials, consumables, tools, spare parts, and machinery & equipment

  • Ensure timely purchasing and delivery, especially for high-value, long-lead-time, or production-critical items

  • Coordinate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Warehouse, Logistics, and Finance to ensure alignment on delivery schedules, inventory availability, and budget usage

  • Monitor purchase order execution, delivery status, and supplier commitments; proactively address delays, shortages, or mismatches

2. Supplier & Order Management

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with approved suppliers in accordance with established procurement policies

  • Conduct price, commercial, and delivery negotiations within delegated authority

  • Administer purchase contracts, purchase orders, and related documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness

  • Track supplier performance on delivery reliability, quality issues, responsiveness, and commercial compliance

  • Escalate supply risks, delivery issues, or cost variances to Procurement and relevant stakeholders in a timely manner

3. Purchasing Control & Compliance

  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with internal policies, approval matrices, and financial controls

  • Maintain accurate, transparent, and traceable purchasing data in ERP/SCM systems

  • Support inventory control, stock reconciliation, and audit activities related to purchased items

  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, cycle time, and operational cost control

4. Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Purchasing team

  • Assign workloads, review execution quality, and ensure discipline in purchasing processes

  • Support cross-functional collaboration to ensure smooth production and supply continuity

Job Requirement

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related fields

  • 5+ years of experience in Purchasing within manufacturing environments, preferably high-value or tightly controlled industries

  • 2+ years in a people management or team lead role

  • Strong hands-on experience in purchase order management, delivery follow-up, and commercial negotiations within delegated authority

  • Solid understanding of purchasing processes, cost control, and internal compliance

  • Proficient in ERP/SCM systems and Excel
