R&D Supervisor (Giám sát bộ phận thiết kế)

Chức năng / Function

• Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Hospitality Research and Development (R&D) team, including furniture, lamps and accessories design and sample development.

Giám sát và điều phối các hoạt động hàng ngày của nhóm Nghiên cứu và Phát triển (R&D), bao gồm thiết kế và phát triển mẫu đồ nội thất, đèn và phụ kiện.

• Ensure assigned R&D activities are completed according to approved requirements, quality standards and timelines.

Đảm bảo các hoạt động R&D được phân công được thực hiện theo đúng yêu cầu, tiêu chuẩn chất lượng và tiến độ đã được phê duyệt.

• Support the R&D Manager / Department Head in coordinating team activities and achieving departmental objectives.

Hỗ trợ R&D Manager / Trưởng bộ phận trong việc điều phối hoạt động của nhóm và hoàn thành các mục tiêu của bộ phận.

Responsibilities

Supervisory Role

• Supervise, coordinate and follow up daily R&D activities to ensure assigned tasks are completed on time and according to requirements.

Giám sát, điều phối và theo dõi các hoạt động R&D hàng ngày, đảm bảo các công việc được giao hoàn thành đúng tiến độ và yêu cầu.

• Assign and prioritize daily tasks for Designers, Draftsmen and R&D staff based on workload and project requirements.

Phân công và sắp xếp thứ tự ưu tiên công việc hàng ngày cho Designer, Draftsman và nhân viên R&D dựa trên khối lượng công việc và yêu cầu của dự án.

• Monitor team performance and provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and support to team members.

Theo dõi hiệu suất làm việc và hướng dẫn, đào tạo, hỗ trợ nhân viên trong công việc hàng ngày.

• Follow up on project and sample schedules and proactively identify delays, issues and potential risks.

Theo dõi tiến độ dự án và mẫu, chủ động nhận diện các vấn đề, nguy cơ chậm tiến độ và rủi ro tiềm ẩn.

• Escalate significant issues to the R&D Manager / Department Head and recommend appropriate solutions.

Báo cáo các vấn đề quan trọng cho R&D Manager / Trưởng bộ phận và đề xuất các giải pháp phù hợp.

• Ensure team members follow approved SOPs, work instructions, design standards and company policies.

Đảm bảo các thành viên trong nhóm tuân thủ SOP, hướng dẫn công việc, tiêu chuẩn thiết kế và chính sách của công ty.

• Coordinate with related departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth execution of R&D and sample development activities.

Phối hợp với các bộ phận liên quan để giải quyết vấn đề và đảm bảo hoạt động R&D và phát triển mẫu được thực hiện hiệu quả.

• Provide feedback on team members' performance and support performance improvement when required.

Cung cấp phản hồi về hiệu suất làm việc của nhân viên và hỗ trợ cải thiện hiệu suất khi cần thiết.

• Support onboarding and on-the-job training for new team members.

Hỗ trợ hội nhập và đào tạo tại chỗ cho nhân viên mới.

• Promote teamwork, cooperation, discipline and a positive working environment within the team.

Thúc đẩy tinh thần làm việc nhóm, hợp tác, kỷ luật và môi trường làm việc tích cực trong nhóm.

• Identify opportunities for improvement in work processes and propose solutions to the R&D Manager / Department Head.

Nhận diện các cơ hội cải tiến quy trình làm việc và đề xuất giải pháp cho R&D Manager / Trưởng bộ phận.

• Prepare regular work and performance reports as required.

Chuẩn bị các báo cáo công việc và hiệu suất định kỳ theo yêu cầu.

• Perform other related duties assigned by the immediate superior.

Thực hiện các nhiệm vụ liên quan khác theo phân công của cấp trên trực tiếp.

Functional Role

• Support and coordinate the design and development of furniture, lamps and accessories, considering layout, function, aesthetics, price point, materials and safety requirements.

Hỗ trợ và điều phối việc thiết kế, phát triển đồ nội thất, đèn và phụ kiện, đảm bảo xem xét các yếu tố về bố trí, công năng, thẩm mỹ, giá thành, vật liệu và an toàn.

• Review design concepts, drawings and technical information prepared by Designers/Draftsmen and provide feedback before submission to the R&D Manager / relevant approver.

Kiểm tra concept, bản vẽ và thông tin kỹ thuật do Designer/Draftsman thực hiện và đưa ra phản hồi trước khi trình R&D Manager / người có thẩm quyền phê duyệt.

• Support Designers and Draftsmen in researching and developing design ideas, materials, hardware and finishes.

Hỗ trợ Designer và Draftsman trong việc nghiên cứu và phát triển ý tưởng thiết kế, vật liệu, phụ kiện và hoàn thiện.

• Conduct research on new materials, finishes, design techniques and applications relevant to Hospitality projects.

Nghiên cứu vật liệu, bề mặt hoàn thiện, kỹ thuật thiết kế và ứng dụng mới phù hợp với các dự án Hospitality.

• Work closely with the Sample Workshop, Production, Planning, Customer Service, Sales and Marketing teams to coordinate sample development.

Phối hợp chặt chẽ với Xưởng mẫu, Sản xuất, Kế hoạch, Customer Service, Sales và Marketing trong quá trình phát triển mẫu.

• Monitor sample development from design/drawing stage through sample completion and report any issues affecting quality, cost or timeline.

Theo dõi quá trình phát triển mẫu từ giai đoạn thiết kế/bản vẽ đến khi hoàn thành mẫu và báo cáo các vấn đề ảnh hưởng đến chất lượng, chi phí hoặc tiến độ.

• Support preparation of design presentations, drawings and sample information for internal review and customer presentation when required.

Hỗ trợ chuẩn bị presentation, bản vẽ và thông tin mẫu phục vụ đánh giá nội bộ và trình bày với khách hàng khi cần.

• Utilize 2D/3D design software and other relevant tools to support the design and development process.

Sử dụng phần mềm thiết kế 2D/3D và các công cụ liên quan để hỗ trợ quá trình thiết kế và phát triển.

• Ensure drawings, specifications and sample information are properly documented and updated.

Đảm bảo bản vẽ, thông số kỹ thuật và thông tin mẫu được lưu trữ, cập nhật đầy đủ và chính xác.

2 Trình độ học vấn và đào tạo / Education and Training

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Architecture or a related field.
• Professional training/certification in design or furniture development is an advantage.

3 Kinh nghiệm và năng lực chuyên môn / Experience and Qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in furniture design, product development, R&D or a related field.
• At least 1–2 years of experience in supervising, coordinating or leading a small design/R&D team is preferred.
• Experience in furniture manufacturing, hospitality projects or high-end furniture is preferred.
• Good understanding of furniture construction, materials, hardware, finishes and production processes.
• Experience working with sample development and manufacturing teams is an advantage.
• Experience in an international / foreign manufacturing environment is preferred.
