Senior Manager Commercial Finance

Job Purpose

• Shape the role of financial business partnership within ConCung, working closely with senior commercial leadership team to lead and develop the annual budget and re-forecasts including commentary for regular business review
• Lead and support development the financial strategy needed to support category and business objectives
• The role is key in trade reporting and monitoring sales and margin management, vendor income and manage margins through improvement proposals
• The role supports business cases and scenario planning, payment terms. Reviews the financial impact of price cuts and promotion effectiveness to guide the best return on investment using financial modelling and data analytics
• Understands macro-economic and market (competitor) trends, monitor product sales trends and guide commercial decisions using facts and an analytical approach.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide complete, accurate and timely management reporting and business insights to senior management Merchandising
• Lead the budget and forecasting process including planning, budgeting and forecasting of sales, margins and working capital  for Merchandising
• Responsible for providing enhanced commercial reporting and insights of key KPIs, including deep dive root cause analysis, identify cost savings opportunities
• Provide analytical support to other Merchandising functions as requested, monitors Vendor P&L’s, review and advises Merchandising regarding stock days and working capital
• Support financial and strategic projects as requested
• Supervise business cases and trials for any new business initiatives
• Lead and initiate enhancements to reporting and insight generation
• Provide complete, accurate and timely management reporting and business insights to senior management

You are a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys influencing senior stakeholders and is passionate for turning complex data into meaningful business outcomes. 

1. Education background:

• CA, CPA or equivalent qualifications coupled with strong commercial finance experience within retail, FMCG or a similarly complex environment.

2. Experience

• 8+ years of experience
• Proven ability to partner with and influence senior leaders to drive strategic outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience navigating ambiguity and building clarity.
• Advanced financial modelling, forecasting and commercial analysis capability.

3. Skills, Knowledge & Competencies

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present compelling insights and tell a clear story.
• Strategic thinking combined with strong commercial acumen and problem solving skills.
• Hands-on mentality and Good at handling large data volume
• Skills: Excel, PowerBI/ Power Query, (SQL/ Python is a plus)
• English language
