The Merchandiser Specialist manages the entire merchandise lifecycle, from sourcing to sales, ensuring optimal product assortment, sales growth, and margin management. This role requires a deep understanding of customer needs, supplier relationships, and effective category management to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Performance Monitoring: Track sales trends, gross margins, and inventory levels, creating actionable plans to address performance gaps and maximize results.
- Pricing & Campaigns: Develop and implement pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and marketing programs to drive category sales.
- Product Assortment & Inventory Management: Optimize category assortment by evaluating product performance and managing inventory turnover to meet sales and margin targets.
- Planogram & Visibility Management: Assess and enhance the effectiveness of planograms to improve product visibility and customer engagement in-store.
- Customer Insights: Analyze customer data and behaviors to enhance the shopping experience and identify new growth opportunities.
- Supplier Relations & Sourcing: Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate optimal trading terms, including pricing, marketing investments, and payment terms to maximize margins.
- New Product Sourcing: Source and evaluate new products to ensure they meet quality, competitiveness, and market relevance standards.
