JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing shipping and logistics operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing costs, and leading the shipping team to achieve efficiency and accuracy in international and domestic shipments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
1.Shipping Operations Management:
- Supervise and coordinate daily logistics activities to ensure timely dispatch and delivery.
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with international and local shipping regulations.
- Collaborate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers to optimize costs and transit times.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of goods to prevent damages and losses.
2.Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all shipping activities comply with international trade laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
- Oversee the preparation and verification of shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Stay updated on changes in import/export regulations and provide guidance to the team..
3.Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior shipping staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the shipping team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
4.Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and resolve shipping-related issues, including delays, damages, and discrepancies.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance shipping accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, warehouse, and customer service) to streamline logistics operations.
