BASIC FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
This position is responsible:
· Responsible for designing, developing, improving tooling (jigs, fixtures, gauges, and assembly tools) and other technical drawings to support manufacturing operations.
· Ensures high precision, repeatability, and manufacturability of tools while contributing to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and quality enhancement in a high-tech production environment.
· Provide corrective action and preventive action for quality issues or audit finding.
1. Tooling/fixture development
· Make and load technical drawing to ERP system to get official approval as procedure requirement
· Validation tools for product/process and transfer products to ensure products build and ship on time.
· Design guides and template shall be reviewed and updated to reflect with process platform, new methods or approaches from development or product/process transferred to support highest volume, lost cost and highest quality
· Interaction with Product/Process Engineers and technicians to design tools support production line
· Identify potential opportunities for process improvement and bring them to attention of product/Process Engineers and supervisors for undertaking with implication of cost saving.
· Address technical subjects, do technical study on selected subjects and present to team
· Work close with project Engineer for new build to ensure tooling properly and provide action timely and to support new products build high yield and products ship on time.
· Work directly with tooling supplier/purchaser/SQE to do troubleshooting and to provide corrective action for tool issues or technical issues.
2. Manufacturing Process Support and Quality control
· Collaborate with Product Engineer, Process Engineer, Quality Engineer… to control process as ISO requirements and make action taken for ISO / customer audit
· Co-operate with process Engineer to provide corrective action and preventive action for 8D-CAR, audit finding, quality issue on line or from customers.
· Co-operate with purchasers /SQE to develop local supplier to improve tool cycle time and cost
· Trouble shooting for yield drop, process issues and improvement activities by using 8D form, Pareto, Fishbones diagram and 5WHY.
· Work closely with production and process Engineer to design fixture, tool, jig to improve productivity and quality.
· Write and maintain SOPs and work instructions for Tooling/fixture/technical drawing.
· Complete CAR and Task efficiently on time
3. Report and documentation
· Frequently report tasks and projects status to Managers.
· Complete all documents to make sure no NC issue from internal/external audit
· Complete monthly report and analysis of the cost and provide action timely to ensure tooling expenses within the budget.
Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
Working Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in tooling design, mechanical design, or related engineering activities within mechanical manufacturing, precision engineering, automation equipment, or other high-tech industries.
Knowledge of mechanical design principles, GD&T, material selection, CNC machining, mold manufacturing, and sheet metal design is preferred
Abilities:
· Experience in using AutoCAD to design and make technical drawing 2D
· Experience in using SolidWorks to design and make technical drawing include:
· Strong documentation and communication skills.
· Ability to use English for technical reading and writing
