Trucking Operations & Vendor Management Specialist

Role Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Trucking Operations Specialist to oversee our transportation network. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing new vendors, managing existing relationships, negotiating competitive rates, and ensuring real-time communication for all shipments.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Vendor Sourcing & Development: Actively identify, evaluate, and onboard new trucking vendors and fleet partners to expand our logistics network.

• Vendor Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of current vendors (KPI management) to ensure service quality and compliance with safety standards.

• Rate Negotiation: Conduct market analysis and negotiate freight rates with vendors to optimize costs while maintaining high service levels.

• Tight Operational Updates: Provide real-time, accurate updates on shipment status to internal teams and clients. Proactively resolve any delays or issues during transit.

• Capacity Planning: Ensure adequate trucking capacity is secured to meet fluctuating demand and seasonal peaks.

• Documentation & Reporting: Manage transport documentation and maintain regular reports on vendor performance and transportation costs.

• Proven experience in logistics, trucking operations, or supply chain management.

• Strong negotiation skills with a deep understanding of freight market trends.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide precise and timely updates.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Proficiency in English (written and verbal) for professional communication and documentation.

• Analytical mindset to evaluate vendor performance and optimize costs.
