Job Description

  • Cost Intake & Template Preparation

- Gather detailed cost breakdowns from carrier rates, surcharges, handling, origin/destination fees & etc.
- Reconcile cost inputs into the internal pricing template, currency conversions and rounding rules.
- Run sanity in between round to ensure consistency, completeness, correctness before submission to the Tender Team.

  • Tariff & Tiers Maintenance

- Update port Tariff & Tiers structures for RFQs
- Ensure online rate portals reflect the latest AFR & OFR rate cards, surcharges (BAF, PSS, etc.) and FAK templates.

  • Gap & Target Analysis

- After each tender round, run “gap vs. target” analyses comparing submitted quotes against margin goals and competitor benchmarks.
- Support “what if” scenario modeling for repricing requests during multi round bids, system & Process Support
- Use the RFQ/Tender Management System to upload templates, track bid statuses and configure automated alerts.
- Maintain process documentation and ensure adherence to established workflows and approval gates.
- Identify manual tasks suitable for automation or process improvement and propose practical solutions.

  • Cross Functional Collaboration

- Liaise with Commercial, Operations and IT/Digital teams to clarify pricing assumptions and deadlines.
- Respond to RFQ queries from Sales or the Tender team with speed and accuracy.
- Participate in pricing governance forums and share lessons learned from completed tenders.

Job Requirement

  • 2+ years in freight forwarding, logistics or shipping line RFQ/tender pricing roles.
  • Advanced Excel (macros, pivot tables) and familiarity with pricing/CPQ platforms.
  • Strong understanding of AFR & OFR cost structures, surcharge models and margin mechanics.
  • People focused leader with ability to coach, motivate and develop talent.
  • Process driven and detail oriented, with excellent documentation skills.
  • Analytical thinker, adept at gap analysis and scenario modeling under tight deadlines.
  • Clear, concise communicator; proven ability to influence cross functional teams.
  • Highly organized, proactive and quality focused.
  • Thrives in a fast paced, matrixed environment.
