Engineering Buyer

Summary/Objective: The engineering buyer will assist with the development of new and sustaining product engineering projects

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

1. Monitors NR material demand (MRP) and gathering input from engineering, inventory, production, purchasing, suppliers, and sales
2. Assists engineering & sales with entry & scheduling of stock replenishment orders for pre-production or customer demand
3. Submits & oversees status of supplier purchase orders
4. Assists marketing & sales with new product sample & NCOs
5. Sets up new NR materials in Item Master
6. Provides lead time for customer inquiries
7. Monitors all NR Expired material, coordinating with engineers & containment teams
8. Responsible for administrative tasks as needed

Require Experience: 

1. 2+ Years’ Experience in an Engineering Department or as a Production supervisor mfg product.
2. Must be a self-starter with strong leadership.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills in relating to both internal and external customers.
5. Excellent organizational and time management skills for tracking multiple projects.
6. Proficient is MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
7. Experience in SGN Systems (preferred, not required): Inventory Suite, Purchasing Suite, MRP, eLab, Vendor Quotes, Shop Floor Control, Order Entry, Order Inquiry, Project Tracking System, ECR/CAD, QP Suite, Material Capacity, PrintView, PDM Vault, EPMS.
8. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
9. Willing to travel to Samtec facilities outside New Albany as needed.
