Job Purpose
The person in charge of the position is responsible for:
The Agency Accounting Senior Officer is responsible for controlling agency accounting activities for agents and agency leaders, including commissions, bonuses, incentives, tax withholding, payments, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, accounting rule validation, and reporting to ensure accurate records, tax compliance, and other accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Agency Accounting Operations
· Perform daily and monthly accounting for agency transactions, including commissions, bonuses, incentives, contest rewards, and other payments to agents and agency leaders.
· Check data from the core insurance system and ensure accurate posting to the general ledger.
· Review supporting documents and support month-end closing, including accruals and agency-related schedules.
2. Agency Tax and Compliance Support
· Calculate, check, and monitor tax obligations related to agency payments, including personal income tax withholding.
· Ensure agency payments are supported by valid documents for tax deductibility and compliance purposes.
· Maintain tax tracking files and support tax reporting, audit requests, and internal reviews.
3. Reconciliation and Reporting
· Reconcile agency compensation reports, core system data, payment records, tax tracking files, and general ledger accounts.
· Manage and reconcile receivables and payables of agents and agency leaders with Distribution, including outstanding balances and settlement status.
· Monitor agency-related accruals and provisions to ensure proper recognition, reversal, and month-end reporting.
· Investigate variances, coordinate with relevant teams, and maintain reconciliation evidence for audit, tax inspection, and internal control purposes.
4. System Support and Accounting Rule Validation
· Support setup and validation of accounting rules, tax logic, and account mappings.
· Participate in UAT and system enhancement testing for agency compensation, payment, tax, and accounting processes.
· Follow up system issues and maintain testing evidence, issue logs, and resolution records.
5. Review Commission and Other Payment Requests for Agents and Agency Leaders
· Review payment requests for commissions and other payments to agents and agency leaders, including payment lists, calculation basis, tax withholding, and supporting documents.
· Check completeness, accuracy, validity, and approval status before payment processing.
· Coordinate with Agency Operations, Distribution, Finance, and relevant teams to clarify information and resolve discrepancies.
6. General Accounting and Other Tasks as Assigned by Direct Manager
· Perform general accounting tasks, month-end closing activities, and preparation of accounting schedules as required.
· Support financial reporting, audit preparation, internal control reviews, and documentation filing.
· Carry out other accounting-related tasks and ad-hoc assignments as requested by the direct manager.
Success Profile - Qualification and Experiences
Degree/Professional:
Experience:
· At least 2–4 years of relevant experience in insurance accounting, agency accounting, tax, commission, bonus, incentive, or payment operations.
· Good understanding of accounting principles, VAS, tax requirements, personal income tax withholding, and life insurance agency transactions.
· Experience in reconciliation, tax tracking, payment support, month-end closing, or accounting system testing is preferred.
