Job Description

2.1 Technical

• Remote server maintenance, monitoring, patching, and backups

• Maintain Server, coms room equipment such as UPS, servers, Data mgmt., SAN etc.

• Monitor network connections for capacity, utilization, and performance; troubleshoot as required.

• Perform implementation, backup and maintenance of network systems and switch platforms.

• Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. Perform implementation and maintenance of server platforms, SAN technologies, virtualization technologies and other data center equipment and systems as required and, where applicable, in conjunction with external providers

• Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop recommendations for improving or further leveraging these systems

• Perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies

• Practice system/server asset management, including maintenance of system/server inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information

• Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems

• Working with our approved external provider, monitor and test system performance and prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports

• Monitor and test network performance and provide statistics and reports.

• Upgrade operating systems of windows server OS (Operating System).

• Installation of new project deployments for innovative solutions.

• Engage with end users on new requirements and develop strategies for support

• Capable of developing high level project plans for infrastructure upgrade projects • Ensure adherence to company IT standards.

• Ensure adherence to company IT process such as change management.

• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issue tickets. Document each contact with details, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken, through to final resolution.

• Write effective technical documentation as assigned.

• Other duties as directed by the India IT Head

2.2 Additional Tasks

• Assist other global teams, applications support and networking team when time permits

• Support global project delivery and standards development

Job Requirement

3.1 Knowledge

• Extensive experience in a remote support-based role

• Remote Desktop Administration experience

• Hands-on experience with Virtualization, DR/BCP Best Practices

• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory

• Working knowledge of data center management techniques

• Knowledge of data center power distribution

• Exposure to the implementation and support of the wider WinTel environment

• Expert In windows server operating systems • Expert in VMWare

• Detailed knowledge of SAN and UPS technology

• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL

• Working knowledge of backup/restore solutions

• Knowledge of networking topologies and network wiring systems

• Extensive experience utilizing several operating systems

• Technical certification such as MCE or MCSE preferred

• Experience with Dell server equipment a plus

• Experienced in management, development, and improvement of monitoring systems

• Experience in using the latest technologies for managing systems

• Automation experience would be desirable
