Team manager will be part of our engineering team that creates 2D, 3D, and digital prototypes, ensuring that our products meet or exceed technical, aesthetic and quality standards. Team manager will execute and engineer the 2D product and review the 3D process as products transition from development to commercialization and production. Additionally, Team manager will work with suppliers to ensure commercialized molds and parts are ready for production.
Work in collaboration with the In-Line team of developers, designers, factory partners and moldshops in the creation of new products, technologies and processes that meet expectations regarding brand integrity, design, product innovation and return on investment.
Support managing the tooling calendar for inline seasons and execute project critical paths according to seasonal timelines.
Evaluate and adjust technical blueprints (outsole/ midsole/ upper) and materials to ensure molds and parts meet expectations.
Participate in meetings with product teams during various phases of prototyping and development to ensure on–time tooling confirmation.
Support the creation and management of tooling best practices, standards; maintain effective communication and adherence by the product teams.
Understand molded component technologies for creating shoes, including mold shop processes and leadtimes, factory procedures, materials knowledge, and ability to recognize and provide feedback on manufacturing concerns.
Send 3D CAD models for Rapid Prototyping.
Communicate and execute the file transfer process as required with brand members, manufacturing partners, mold shops, designers, and developers.
Support management of a comprehensive archive system of technical drawings and 3D files for the in-line product range as well as advanced projects.
Join weekly development team meetings and update tooling tracking list for upcoming products.
Support mold and stockfitting trials with development team and factory teams to detect potential manufacturing issues and ensure those are communicated and solved with the functional teams.
Check all the pre-form and finished components in person and confirm those are good to go against the blueprints.
Job Requirement
Experience
Preferably hold a degree in a post-secondary discipline (ex. Associate degree, B.A, etc) and could be substituted with relevant experience.
3 years experience in technical engineering/mold making area for sports shoes.
Extensive knowledge of the molding process, molding equipment, molding materials and mold tooling
Experience working with overseas, particularly Asia.
Skill
2d and 3d process and skill : Understanding the 2d , 3d process how to making the new 2d drawing and 3d file.
Communication, organizational skills and a willingness to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
The ability to visualize in three dimensions, and experience with technical and manufacturing processes.
Knowledge
Current computer hardware and software proficiency (Office, Outlook, Adobe Illustrator, 2D CAD). 2D Knowledge of Rhinoceros; 3D Knowledge of Rhinoceros is a plus.
Strong understanding of the working methods and cultural norms of source countries.
Demonstrated technical knowledge in tooling/ footwear tooling engineering, Asian production and RD&D processes. Familiar with the machinery and materials used in the manufacturing of footwear (CMEVA, IMEVA, PU, TPU) and its expected results.
