1. Job summary
At Melive, we're on a mission to accelerate social commerce. We connect passionate creators with ambitious brands, igniting sales and engagement through captivating livestreams and short-form videos.
As a Category Manager - you will lead a team of category managers, overseeing several product categories. This role is crucial for curating a compelling assortment of brands and products, driving revenue through strategic product selection, brand/supplier partnerships, commercial terms management, and optimizing category performance.
Assortment Manager leads the team of Assortment Management, reports to the Head of Melive. It is a mid-level managerial position.
2. Key Responsibilities
In this critical role, you'll leverage your expertise to:
Product Selection Strategy and Brand Growth: Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies for product portfolio, brand and seller partnerships, ensuring alignment with Melive’s objectives.
Brand Acquisition and Onboarding: Identify, acquire, and onboard new brands and sellers, setting the foundation for successful partnerships.
Deal-making ability Contract Management: Negotiate and manage commercial terms and contracts with commercial partners and supply chain partners, ensuring favorable terms for Melive.
Commercial and Category Performance: Oversee and drive monthly and quarterly GMV/Revenue targets, as well as growth in each product category. Annual forecast planning based on targets and business growth
Training: Provide essential brand/product training to internal teams, enhancing their ability to market and sell effectively.
Product Innovation: Lead and facilitate the development of appealing, and potential for high-volume products, through either new product sourcing or creative combination.
Engagement and Retention: Foster strong relationships with brands and sellers, implementing strategies to retain and grow these partnerships.
Build a robust team, and manage collaborative and goal-oriented team culture, tracking & support long term growth team member performance
Collaboration with the Partnership and Operations teams to establish a clear roadmap for a successful workflow.
Come up with initiatives to continuously improve competitiveness advantage for Head meLive.
Qualifications
We're seeking a highly motivated individual with:
7+ years working experience; with 4+ years of experience in merchandising, category management, product portfolio management, ideally within the ecommerce and/or retail.
Proven track records in merchandising, category management within e-commerce or retail.
Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, with a track record of achieving commercial targets.
Excellent negotiation and relationship management abilities, with experience in contract management.
Ability to lead and inspire a team, driving performance and innovation.
Good experience in campaign management and driving brand/seller performance through sales campaigns.
Proactive problem-solving approach, anticipating potential challenges and devising effective solutions.
Innovative and adaptive, with a keen eye for emerging trends in social commerce and digital marketing.
A strong plus if you are used to or have been managing a monthly turn-over target of 20 billions VND or above.
