Job Description

SEL Instruction

● Teach SEL skills including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making across K-12.

● Provide one-to-one and group counseling sessions to support students’ emotional and behavioral needs.

● Work collaboratively with teachers to integrate SEL practices and principles within classroom settings.

Student Support and Counseling

● Collaborate with the Wellbeing team and other educators to address individual student needs and goals.

● Meet with parents, counselors, and external agencies as needed to coordinate support for student growth.

● Assist with implementing targeted interventions to foster positive social-emotional development.

Professional Development and Program Engagement

● Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed on best practices in SEL and counseling.

● Participate in SEL projects and activities that support school wide social-emotional learning objectives.

Miscellaneous

● Perform additional tasks related to SEL and counseling as requested by the SEL Coordinator or Wellbeing Director.

Job Requirement

Expected Qualifications:

-       Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Psychology, with at least 2 years of classroom experience

Desirable:

-       Master’s Degree in Education or Psychology, teaching license, and 3+ years of classroom teaching experience

-       Strong communication and collaboration skills for engaging students, parents, and staff

-       Compassionate and student-centered, with an understanding of diverse student needs

-       Ethical and confidential, committed to handling sensitive information with integrity

-       Adaptability and problem-solving skills to address varied student challenges

Proficiency with digital tools for tracking, scheduling, and reporting SEL and counseling activities
