The Export Documentation Specialist coordinates and monitors export shipments, ensuring proper documentation for customs clearance and compliance with U.S. export regulations. Key responsibilities include:
Document Management: Create, maintain, and audit all export documents, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely provision to customers and freight partners.
Supplier Communication: Communicate with international suppliers and third parties to ensure timely receipt of documentation and provide guidance on related inquiries.
Credit Analysis: Analyze customer credit requests related to late documentation and provide recommendations for approval or denial.
Compliance Assurance: Assist in maintaining export compliance for customers after initial setup.
Regulatory Reporting: Accurately report international shipments to the U.S. Census Bureau via the Automated Export System (AES) and update filings as needed.
Invoicing and Payments: Update freight invoicing logs and process payments, coordinating with corporate accounts payable.
Correspondence Retention: Maintain international correspondence per U.S. Customs requirements.
Data Collection: Collect and update information in line with team performance measures.
SOP Maintenance: Maintain and recommend updates to Standard Operating Procedures for the documentation team.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and assist in implementing changes.
Regulatory Awareness: Stay updated on export regulations and communicate changes to management.
Job Requirement
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in International Business, Business Administration, Import/Export or equivalent experience.
Have 1 year of experience or below.
