Head of Cashier

Job Description

We're seeking a responsible and efficient Head Cashier to play a vital role in our daily operations. You'll be responsible for:

• Cash Handling & Management:
  • Set up the cashier station at the beginning of each shift, ensuring adequate cash floats, printer paper, bill holders, and a clean workspace.
  • Accurately process all transactions, including cash, credit card, and other payment methods.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions.
  • Reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift, preparing cash deposits and reports.
  • Manage and replenish small change as needed.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to the Restaurant Manager/Assistant Manager immediately.
• Operational Support:
  • Monitor open tables and ensure timely payment of bills.
  • Verify the accuracy of all bills before printing.
  • Process refunds and voided transactions according to established procedures.
  • Arrange taxi services for guests as requested, utilizing the preferred taxi company.
  • Report any damaged equipment or supplies to the supervisor.
• Closing Procedures:
  • Count and reconcile cash drawers with a supervisor.
  • Prepare cash deposits and reports.
  • Secure cash and reports in the designated safe.
  • Prepare cash floats for the next day.
• Other Duties:
  • Attend daily pre-shift meetings with floor staff.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Job Requirement

• Proven experience as a cashier, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Strong cash handling skills and experience with POS systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.  
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent guest service.
