SUMMARY
This is a technical position responsible for design and development programming, and maintenance or modification programming based on the business principles.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Under general supervision is responsible for the following major tasks:
· Work with users of an application to determine what features are required.
· Design and programming complex applications that interact with other applications or modules, by developing programming specifications for systems using structured methodologies for system development.
· Responsible for projects from start to finish.
· Responsible for user documentation of systems/applications.
· Conduct user training.
· Responsible for testing the systems/applications, prior to releasing in production.
· Responsible for learning programming techniques from other staff members and new programming technology.
· May also mentor junior programmers or student intern.
· Backup to daily EDI monitoring
· Troubleshoot, track, and resolve day-to-day issues
· Perform system configuration, mapping for both Ansi X12 and EDIFACT
· Management of transactions and processes.
· Ability to independently analyze and solve complex technical problems involving data load issues, system response time, and business rules conflicts.
· Participate in design and review of new applications and integration strategies of EDI systems.
· Management of VAN connectivity for trading partners.
· Backup On-Call after hour EDI support

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree and a minimum of six years experience in programming business applications, or equivalent experience. Solid knowledge of the AS/400 architecture and its capabilities and utilities. Expansive skill sets and can readily design, write, and create reports or modify reports to meet a user’s needs. In-depth knowledge of RPG, CL and interactive subfiles. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
· A minimum score of 26 on the Wonderlic Contemporary Cognitive Ability Test.
Good command of the English languages, both written and spoken.
Work from 2PM to 10:30 PM (30 mins break) from Monday to Saturday
