This role will be in charge of the following main responsibilities:
1. Sales Support
Provide legal advice, counseling and service, addressing existing and potential legal matters in daily work as well as key projects to enable the achievement of strategic and commercial goals in alignment with the applicable law.
Handle crises/disputes.
Review distribution agreements with partners; review memos, policies for sales force.
2. Operations Support:
Provide legal advice & service to support OP in legal matters arising from their operation.
Support OP to handle customer complaints.
3. Litigation handling:
Handle non-claim, claim litigation to protect PHL’s legal interest.
Present as PHL‘s authorized representative at court, police.
Prepare supporting documents and coordinate with external lawyers of PHL (if any) in the lawsuit, ensuring that the Legal Director, Compliance, and Risk are fully updated on the lawsuit information.
4. Contract review:
Review the terms and provisions of contracts/agreements with the suppliers.
5. Corporate governance:
Draft documents for meetings, with company's capital increase file, contact point with Company providing shareholder registry management services.
Ensure that PHLs activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Assist Accountable Functions in ensuring that business policies, procedures and practices are in line with the internal regulations and applicable laws.
Draft/prepare/complete POAs and maintain POA List.
Draft documents for meetings, with company's capital increase file, contact point with Company providing shareholder registry management services.
6. Regulatory advice & legal update:
Give advice & update on insurance regulatory changes to the relevant divisions.
Provide comment/opinion on draft laws/regulations to competent authorities.
Job Requirement
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or equivalent.
At least 03 years in a legal/compliance position in an insurance company/bank or a law firm. Experience in insurance industry will be an advantage.
Knowledge of, and experience with legal & compliance issues in dealing with Government, Authority, Court and other Department Heads.
Ability to provide independent advice (orally and in writing) to senior level management on highly legal technical matters.
Demonstrate success in managing and conducting a variety of litigation matters.
Strong communication skill (both verbal & written).
Detail oriented and be able to handle multi-tasks.
