1. Technical Mastery
- Be an expert in the technologies of the line.
- Develop & teach operating procedures and ensure they are fully effective.
- Develop forward plans for the technologies.
2. Capability building
- Use systems to build capability of operators and technicians.
- Develop and deliver training and skills improvements.
- Ensure there is a high level of technical competence within the operating team.
3. Drive Process reliability and stability by solving the chronic problems on the line.
- Understand and analyse process variability root causes and define systems to eliminate them.
- Design and define critical process parameters and centrelines; track and ensure adherence to them.
- Give technical confirmation to any request or project proposal that affects the process or equipment.
- Increase the stability of the line to support the transition of traditional line teams to autonomous teams.
4. Process data gathering and issues analysis
- Implement & maintain systems to collect, collate and analyse data on key process parameters.
- Identify and prioritise process capability issues for performance or quality.
- Coach & teach the team to solve these issues.
5. Improve process capability and quality
- Identify improvement opportunities & projects
- Take responsibility for implementation by leading & coaching the line teams
6. Be responsible for the validation of all process improvements and the establishment of revised basic conditions on the line.
7. Identify and lead the implementation of Productivity Improvement Projects
8. Drive Labor productivities improvement through line crews and process optimization
9. Be a Leader of the Future
- Display the correct behaviours with the team and be seen as a leader of the area
- Cover for Line Leader when needed
10. Identify and extend good practice to other lines.
11. Be responsible for quantity and quality requirements
12. Master of FI tools and IL6S methodologies to apply in daily job.
13. Be FI members or pillar members as required and responsible for implementation of IL6S in respective areas
13. Perform other tasks when required
- University education in engineering
- Fundamental know how and experience in food processes and products
- Good knowledge of engineering health and Safety and legislation.
- Coaching mindset – succeed through others
- Analytical and conceptual skills, technical judgement and design knowledge.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes and programmes.
- Strong engineering leadership credentials with a proven ability to eliminate loss and waste on significant projects (normally above €1m).
- Experience in statistics and process control tools.
- Experience in AM, PM, FI, Quality and Logistics methods and tools
- Be able to visualize clearly what the ideal production system is;
- Be able to clearly understand operating principles and establish correct operating standards;
- Be able to present findings and rationales clearly so that whole factory team can understand;
- Be able to make logical decisions based on data;
- Have growth mindset and continuous improvement mindset. Always chellenge status quo and be result-oriented
