JOB SUMMARY
The Product Developer is a key member of the Development Department, supporting Import Product Designers in various aspects such as furniture and vendor sourcing, material development, finish development, and new market samples. The role involves managing market samples at factory and organizing sample development materials, taking high-quality sample review photos, and maintaining all related data in the Concept Launch System to support the new product launching process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Sample Development and Management:
· Initiate and follow up on sample requests to factories, ensuring sample completion within the intended shipping timeframe.
· Review samples and make adjustments to meet design intentions and quality expectations.
· Organize and manage all related information, materials, and documentation that support the product launching process.
· Take high-quality sample review photos to document and assess sample quality and design alignment.
· Coordinate sample shipping to the intended market.
· Follow up and analyze vendor pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness and competitiveness.
· Product launch stage:
o Responsible for transferring product information with accuracy in term of technical documentation
o Support other teams in establishing finish standard and Pre-Production prototype meeting design intention.
Material and Vendor Coordination:
· Support Import Product Designers in sourcing materials and vendors for furniture production.
· Assist in the development of materials and finishes to meet project requirements including but not limited to new material, finish, cover, mechanism, electronics, etc.
Data and Process Management:
· Maintain and update all related data in the Concept Launch System to ensure accurate and efficient tracking of sample developments.
Others
· Projects and tasks assigned by manager and team leaders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
· Bachelor's degree required; preferred in a related field such as Design, Development, or Project Management.
Experience:
· Previous experience in furniture product development, design, or a related field is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
· Effective Communication Skills: Ability to clearly convey information and collaborate with diverse teams.
· Organizational Skills: Proficiency in managing multiple tasks, prioritizing, and ensuring seamless coordination.
· Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure high standards of sample quality and design accuracy.
· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to address design and production challenges efficiently.
· Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with design software and project management tools.
Proficient in MS Office, Auto Cad, Photography, and other computer skills.
