The product manager will be responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the fashion product lifecycle, including:
- Working closely with sales & marketing, and design to analyze the data to ensure the brand standard and consumer-oriented product development.
- Updating Competitor Analysis Report.
- Defining the product vision of the fashion brand with the creative director.
- Ensuring that the product supports the fashion/retail company's overall image, strategy, and goals.
- Overseeing the entire development and production process with the factories of a company's products.
- Developing seasonal merchandise strategy and assortment plans including costing analysis.
- Ensuring effective ranging, planning, and forecasting of all ranges.
- Coordinating all the development activities [i.e., materials, trims, finish, style/construction approval] to ensure that prototypes and mass production are delivered on time and according to the company calendar.
- Ensuring quality standards are met at all times.
- Ensuring effective collaboration with suppliers and communication with external suppliers.
- Driving the specifications process to ensure the on-time development, engineering, and accurate documentation of all products.
- Advanced Excel skills and an ability to use planning systems effectively.
- Experience in medium size retail business.
- A solid understanding of the product development process and cycle.
- Great communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively and work collaboratively across the business.
- Highly analytical with a background and strong understanding of the fashion production process.
- Highly organized, has a strong commercial awareness, can build strong relationships, drive sales and margin growth, understand reporting, confident to present, and ideally have a general interest in and good market knowledge of the accessories markets.
- The ability to assess fashion trends and manage the planning cycle.
- Effective communication with the line manager and other departments
