Research & Teaching Assistant in Digital IC Design at VGU is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of digital IC design courses, assisting students in their IC design projects, conducting research independently and collaboratively, and contributing to the growth of microelectronics and IC design programs. This role bridges teaching and research, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for students while advancing research in digital IC design.
Student Support: Offer guidance to students in digital IC design projects, from conception to implementation, ensuring their understanding and successful completion;
Lab Assistance: Provide guidance and supervision to students in digital IC design lab sessions, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment;
Teaching Support: Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, including lecture notes, assignments, and lab exercises for digital IC design courses;
Research Collaboration: Collaborate with senior researchers on digital IC design projects, contribute ideas, and engage in IC design and prototyping work;
Curriculum Development: Assist in developing new modules related to microelectronics and IC design, including creating course materials, assessments, and lab exercises;
Research Projects: Independently lead or support digital IC design research projects, conduct experiments, analyze data, and report findings;
Prototype Development: Collaborate with students on prototyping and testing digital IC designs, ensuring adherence to project goals and timelines;
Student Research Assistance: Provide guidance and mentorship to bachelor and master students in their digital IC design-related research projects and theses;
Lab Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper maintenance and functioning of lab equipment, and coordinate with technical staff for repairs as needed.
Job Requirement
1. Qualifications: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
2. Experiences:
Previous experience in digital IC design and laboratory work is preferred;
Experience in supporting or conducting research projects is a plus;
Familiarity with teaching or assisting in an academic setting is advantageous.
3.Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of digital integrated circuit (IC) design principles, including digital logic design, verification, physical design, and prototyping;
Familiarity with industry-standard IC design tools and software;
Understanding of microelectronics and semiconductor technologies.
4. Skills
Proficiency in English for effective communication and documentation;
Proficiency in IC design tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, or Mentor Graphics;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work effectively in an international/multicultural environment;
Project management and organizational skills.
