The PMO Analyst / Reporting Lead is responsible for supporting the Strategic PMO in developing and maintaining the bank’s strategic project portfolio. The role ensures transparent, timely, and accurate reporting of project performance; provides early warning signals on risks and issues; supports resource allocation analysis; and contributes to project effectiveness evaluation against the bank’s strategic objectives. The position plays a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making and enhancing the overall governance and performance of the project portfolio.
CRITICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategic Portfolio Management
Contribute to the development and continuous review of the bank’s strategic project portfolio.
Analyse strategic project proposals and strategic alignment to support prioritization and portfolio planning.
Provide recommendations on SPMO’s resource allocation based on project complexity, priority, and capacity.
Reporting & Dashboard Management
Consolidate data from Finance’s PMO and ensure the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of project information.
Prepare periodic strategic project portfolio reports for senior leadership.
Support Finance’s PMO in enhancing project management reporting templates and dashboards.
Performance Monitoring & Risk Oversight
Track project progress, timelines, deliverables, and budget performance across the portfolio.
Identify deviations from plans and highlight potential risks, issues, and bottlenecks.
Provide early warnings and analytical insights to Head of SPMO to support proactive decision-making.
Follow up with Project Managers to ensure the implementation of corrective actions.
Project Evaluation & Strategic Alignment
Participate in post-implementation reviews and assessment of project outcomes.
Evaluate project effectiveness versus initial business case, KPIs, and strategic objectives.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure lessons learned are documented and disseminated.
Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with Project Managers, business units, technical teams, Finance, HR, and other PMOs to gather data and validate project information.
Facilitate communication across the portfolio and ensure transparency with key stakeholders.
Job Requirement
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or related fields.
Professional certifications (preferred): CAPM, PMP, PRINCE2, etc.
Solid understanding of Project Management and Project Portfolio Management frameworks (e.g., PMBOK, PPM best practices).
Strong knowledge of risk management, resource planning, and project performance evaluation methodologies.
Proficiency in reporting and analytics using tools such as advanced Excel, Power BI, or PMO/PPM software.
Good grasp of organizational strategy and the ability to translate strategic objectives into portfolio insights and reporting.
Knowledge of portfolio prioritization techniques and scenario-based analysis for supporting executive decision-making.
Strong proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or equivalent).
Advanced skills in reporting and data visualization (Power BI, Excel).
Good understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, hybrid models).
Ability to analyse project financials, KPIs, and resource utilization.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially in summarizing complex information for senior leaders.
High attention to detail with strong data management discipline.
3–5 years of experience in PMO, project management, business analysis, strategic planning, or related roles.
Experience working in banking, financial services, or large-scale corporate environments is an advantage.
Experience with portfolio reporting, dashboard development, or analytics preferred.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
