1. Strategic Direction and Development of Teaching and Learning
Support and secure the commitment of others to the vision, ethos, polices and mission of the school, as delivered through the EYP, and so promote success in achieving the mission for all students
Maintain responsibility for the strategic implementation of the EYP programme, in accordance with the strategic direction set by the Head of School and Principal, to ensure for an ever deepening and sustainable implementation of the EYP
2. Supporting Teaching & Learning
Work collaboratively with EYP staff to promote and maintain a high-quality written curriculum, as defined by the IB standards and practices
Work collaboratively with EYP staff to promote and maintain high quality implementation of the written curriculum, as defined by the IB standards and practices and as further articulated through the appraisal process
Work collaboratively with EYP staff to evaluate the ‘learned curriculum’, as evidenced through appropriately triangulated data, in order to continually improve the learning experience and opportunities for success of all students
Work collaboratively with EYP staff, the Principal and other appropriate staff to ensure for the appropriate resourcing of the curriculum to include; teaching resources, the physical classroom/campus space and how this is utilized and the resource of time (both for teachers and students.
3. Communicating the EYP
In order to promote and maintain the best interests of student learning and welfare within the EYP, ensure for effective collaboration and communication across all appropriate staff, to include teachers and other instructional staff, administrators and other middle/senior leaders and support staff
Provide a strong voice to promote and maintain the interests of the EYP in cross programme discussions and in the context of horizontal iscussions where other models are being used to support the EYP
Be the prime person responsible for communication with the IB, and within the regional network, in support of continual improvement in student learning and welfare
Be a visible voice, teacher and advocate for the EYP, in support of the school mission, in promoting understanding of the EYP within the parent and wider community
4. Staff professional development
Ensures that staff members are made aware of professional development (online or face-to face) opportunities
Lead the internal training on mapping and delivering the IB EYP curriculum efficiently
5. Resource management
Make recommendations for the purchase of suitable resources to support the implementation of the programme
Establishe an inventory of resources to facilitate efficient management
